The Ebengut philosophy
Organic farm holidays in Maria Alm
Family-friendly – simple – embedded in glorious nature:
The organic farm Ebengut with its own chapel owes its name to the extraordinarily quiet location on a high plateau with a divine view of the mountain range Steinernes Meer.
In summer the farm is surrounded by lush green meadows, while in winter the next slope certainly isn’t far.
Die Geschichte des Ebengutes
History of the Ebengut
Josef and Notburga Hölzl, the parents of the current farmer, bought the farm in 1940 and operated it as an extra fiefdom. Alois and Notburga Hölzl took over the Ebengut in 1981.
Due to the very poor basic structure of the building, the organic farm in Maria Alm had to be re-edified in 1982.
We’ve decided on making the diving location available to guests and incorporated guest rooms and apartments during the reconstruction process.
The origin of our chapel can be traced back to a former owner of the ‘Ebengut’, the Jerusalem pilgrim “Ilgen Hansl”.
This very religious Christian built the chapel His pilgrim’s staff and many other mementos from the Holy Land are exhibited at the Saalfelden Ritzensee museum of local history.
We are very glad that we could preserve this precious chapel.
The chapel was very well preserved in the old house, which allowed us to lift it from the attic and make it look as good as new in a proper setting in front of the house.
Relish in the rich history and the particularly quiet location of your holiday apartment in Maria Alm.
We are looking forward to your non-binding holiday enquiry.
