The perfect ski tour: Schwalbenwand
Directly from Ebengut, the trail leads across open meadows, through the forest and finally along the ridge to Schwalbenwand.
Route description:
You start from Ebengut in a south-westerly direction for about one kilometre. Across the open meadows you then head WEsten until you reach a very wide cutting. At the Hinterjetzbachhütte, the ascent finally begins, which remains manageable throughout the tour, except for a steep step. Past a hay barn, through the sparse forest and across the meadows to the edge of the forest, you finally come to a very wide ridge, which you follow in a south-westerly direction. The view is already fantastic here, before you continue along the ridge to Brunnkopf and along the ridge to the destination of the tour: the Schwalbenwand summit. For the last few metres to the summit cross, we recommend – depending on the weather – taking off your skis. Caution is also advised on the ridge! You will be rewarded for this climb with a wonderful panoramic view over the Hochkönig region, Zell am See & Maria Alm. The way down is similar to the way up.
The key data:
Duration: approx. 3h from Ebengut.
Ascent: approx. 1200 metres in altitude
Difficulty: easy to medium
Best time of year: early winter to March

The view is definitely worth the effort, we can only recommend the Schwalbenwand tour and also enjoy doing it privately. If you have any further tour tips, please do not hesitate to contact us, we look forward to your visit at Ebengut!
